CALLING ALL PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES!
Join a quarter of a million other Americans at the One Nation Working Together Rally on the Mall in Washington, DC at noon on October 2nd. We share their dream of Jobs, Justice, Education and Equality for All. Be there to make sure they know it and include us in that dream. Be there to make sure that we work together to make it a reality for all of us. It is the only way it will.
The rally is sponsored by more than 170 national, state and local progressive groups – unions, racial, religious, women, LGBT, student, ecological, peace, civil and human rights groups. All of these groups include people with disabilities. All these groups fight for causes that we also fight for as a group. It is time, past time, for us to make common cause with them
It is time to unite for human rights, for economic and social justice. It is time to realize that when we win that battle together, we will all win the victories we have been striving for separately. That is the only way we will. It is time to create a society in which every person can flourish and every dream can be lived.
So far, not a single disability group is listed among its sponsors, although Next Step has applied and is awaiting acceptance. At the same time, its website includes an email address, ONWTlogistics@gmail.com for people with disabilities with questions about accessibility.

Next Step, incorporated as People with Disabilities for Social and Economic Justice, works to protect and develop the rights of individuals with disabilities and to make certain that businesses and officials respond to the needs of people rather than the interests of those with wealth and power.
Through organizing campaigns that promote economic, social, and political justice, Next Step encourages the involvement of people with disabilities and their supporters in challenging the public and private institutions and agencies that influence our lives.
We believe that the most successful forms of social change are those that result from the organized efforts of ordinary people to address wrongs, educate others and alter current beliefs and practices.
